Tips to Rid Your Yard of Moles

Moles can be very destructive in our yards. They will kill your grass and can leave your yard a mess. Moles will push the ground up moving through your yard. This will kill the grass and make bare spots and tracks through your yard. They can get out of control very easily if left unattended. Making a nice lawn look awful. Pushing up mounds all over your yard. We have moles and have noticed that they are usually more active in the moist areas of our yard. We have tried different ways of trying to rid our yard of them. One thing we have tried is putting out mole pellets. They can be bought at most department stores. You drop a teaspoon of these pellets inside the mole hill and if they eat them they are toxic and it will kill them. We have seen a slight difference in how many mounds we see in our yard. Seeing less then we had before. So this must help to a certain point. And maybe over a long period of time it would completely make them leave. It is worth a try.

Another thing we have tried is mole traps. The mole traps work something like a big mouse trap would. You set it over a hill or mole track in your yard and if the mole goes back through the track it will go off and kill the mole. We have got rid of several moles with a mole trap and this far have had more luck by using the mole traps then anything else we've tried. You have to be persistent and check your yard each day and set the trap out if you see any new mole activity in your yard. Although we have rid ourselves of several moles with the trap we still have moles from time to time that come back in our yard. So we get the traps back out when we see more mole activity. Moles are said to eat grubs in your yard and some people have told me that if you can kill the grubs in your yard then the moles will leave. I have not tried this yet but it sounds like it makes sense and it might be worth giving it a try.
