A Lego Fanatics Guide to the Lego Batman Series
Explore Gotham's Dark Side with These Incredible Batman Lego Sets
The world of Lego is an interesting albeit an expensive place to visit. Being a huge fan of this building system for many years I have seen it grow from basic sets to expansive themes that include SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora The Explorer, Star Wars and their own series, Bionicles. CrossWhen Lego announced that they were going a Batman series, fanatics of the building blocks were split. Some loved the idea and others hated it. We all knew that the prices would be high and the initial demand would be great but only time would tell if it would be something that Lego would stick with. There are seven sets on the market so far with two more due to be released by the end of the summer. So far things look good for the theme but is Lego growing too fast and too far to stay in touch with consumer wants and needs?
The sets are all well designed but you have to keep one thing in mind; these are Lego based items so there are going to be things that have to be changed or slightly tweaked to make them fit into the "Lego scale" of things. With sets ranging in price from $9.99 to $89.99 there is something for everyone but mark my words, when newer sets are released, the prices on the older ones will drop.
The figures that come in the various sets range from the ultra popular and well know Batman, Robin, Two-Face, Penguin, Joker and Catwoman but there are also sets that include Alfred, Bruce Wayne, Poison Ivy, Nightwing and The Riddler. As with most Lego sets, there are the token broods that end up getting killed or used as bait. All of the figures have a great amount of detail to them; there are even several different versions of Batman in the series.
Set Name: The Batman Dragster: Catwoman Pursuit
Set Number: 7779
Price: $9.99
Piece Count: 92
Year Released: 2006
One of the smallest sets in the series but certainly not a waste of cash. This comes with Catwoman and Batman figures and two easy to build but highly functional vehicles.
