Where to Go for July 4th Near Fishers, Indiana

Just because you live in Fishers and our big Independence Day town celebration has passed, that doesn't mean you can't hit the town for some festivities! All around us parades will be marching and fireworks will be blazing! So, where will you be heading this Fourth of July?

Connor Prairie's Glorious Fourth & Symphony on the Prairie

This is the closest to those of us who live in Fishers, but also one of the most expensive, since it's not free. However, it is worth seeing! Connor Prairie's Living History Museum will be all ablaze with fun events. The Glorious Forth Celebration is going on from now until July 4^th. Monday thru Wednesday and Saturday visit between 11 A.M. and 5 P.M., but Sunday will be limited hours from 11 A.M. till 5 P.M. Admission is $11 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, and $7 for youth 4-12 years of age. All children under 4 and members are free.

Everyday at Connor Prairie's Glorious Fourth will be filled with watermelon seed spitting contests, homemade ice cream making, face painting, games, crafts, animal encounters, barbershop quartets, gunsmithing demonstrations, and other farm life activities. Enjoy an old-fashion baseball game, patriotic ceremony, making your own candles, and milking cows. Festival food includes BBQ sandwiches, roasted corn, walking tacos, Coney dogs, nachos, lemon shake-ups, strawberry shortcake, fried apples, and kettle corn. Connor Prairie is a very fun and educational place for school age children and adults. It's even more exciting during special events with the place is alive with activity and something fun is around every corner. Younger children, though, may be bored and the dirty paths aren't the most stroller-friendly.
