Make up does not come with an expiration date, but women know that make up does indeed expire. Some eye make up should not be used past three months, to keep it clean.
What do you do with an almost-empty bottle of nail polish or lipstick that no longer twists out of the tube? Use them in arts and crafts, of course.
These items should only be used by adults making arts and crafts, although teen girls and tweens who use nail polish can use some of these ideas.
Also, be sure to clean off any mascara brushes before using on paper, and to rub off the top layer of eyes shadow before use.
Apply a fixative to the final art work, toe keep if from smearing, and for health and safety reasons.
6 Make Up Items that Can Be Recycled into Arts and Crafts
1. Masacara and Brush
After cleaning the used mascara brush, dip it back into the make up dispenser and use the rest of the mascara to draw on paper crafts. You can create some interesting lines and textures with black or brown mascara.
2. Nail Polish
When nail polish gets too thick and tacky to apply to fingers and toes, use it to decorate your arts and crafts. I have received Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) which were painted with nail polish.
3. Lipstick
Lipstick is another make up product that can be recycled into arts and crafts. First remove any portion of the lipstick that came in contact with your lips. Then draw with the rest, as if it were an oil pastel stick.
Draw dark lines, and smudge them, making translucent colors on your arts and crafts.
4. Hair Elastics
Hair elastics which are stretched out or even broken can be recycled into arts and crafts. Use them to tie objects together, or glue them on as decoration.
5. Eye Shadow
Eye shadow colors come and go with the seasons. Recycle old or questionable eye shadow colors into arts and crafts. Apply with Q-tips, your fingers or a wet brush.
Dry eye shadow may look like pastels on paper. When applied with a wet brush, they could mimic delicate watercolors.
6. Eye Liner
