When it comes to constructing a fantasy football team, wide receivers are usually valued third, under running backs and quarterbacks. This based on the amount of points that can be produced by each position. Regardless of their value, a dangerous wide receiver can produce some major points for your team and make you a very happy person. Here are my top ten wide receivers to look out for in this season of fantasy football.

(1) Chad Johnson, Cincinnati Bengals: Bye Week 5
With the WR arsenal at Carson Palmer's disposal, Chad Johnson's touchdown totals haven't been plenty in the last three years (only 7 TDs in 2006). With talented receivers TJ Houshmandzadeh and Chris Henry also catching similar touchdown numbers, Ocho Cinco fantasy football value wasn't as high as others. With the suspension of Chris Henry for eight games in 2007, expect Johnson to have much more scoring opportunities. Personally, Johnson will be the first receiver I go for in the draft but there are a few potential number one receivers that you can choose from.

(2) Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers: Bye Week 7
Many fantasy football owners will not consider Steve Smith so high because his totals suffered last season, due to injuries and the inconsistency at quarterback. Steve Smith is still one of the most dangerous receivers in the game and will bounce back from an average season in 2007.

(3) Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboys: Bye Week 8
T.O. had a somewhat off season last year, dropping tons of passes because of a finger injury that was kept quiet until the end of the season. However, his touchdown numbers were the best among receivers in the NFL with 13. Owens will not have the dropsy's like last season and will return to dominating form. He will definitely be among the top five players drafted in fantasy football.

(4) Marvin Harrison, Indianapolis Colts: Bye Week 6
Even at the age of 35, Marvin Harrison is still one of the elite receivers in the NFL today. His numbers continue to remain consistent despite the naysayer's who continue to wait for his decline. With Manning at the helm, Marvin Harrison will continue to be a top fantasy pick.

You say that Lee Evans is a late first round pick. How many teams deep is your league. Most football formats are 10 teams and there's probably only two WRs I'd even consider as top 20 picks. After finishing strong I do think Lee Evans could have a big year this year, but I still rank the three you have behind him, Colston and Houshmandzadeh ahead of him this year. It'll also be interesting to see how Randy Moss does with Brady and Andre Johnson with Schaub. Good article
