First aid kits can save lives. I've seen it happen. Several years ago I was in an emergency situation, when my husband, now deceased, had a seizure white driving in the Rocky mountains. Fortunately there was a couple in our Land Rover group that were a medical resident and a pharmacist. They had a huge first aid kit stocked will all kinds of supplies, ointments, bandages and more. . Even so, when my husband started to hyperventilate, they had to flag down a passing motorist for a paper bag. The passerby had an empty Dunkin' Donuts bag, which the doctor had my husband breathe into. He was revived and we were able to get him out of the mountains and into an emergency room. The lesson there, is that in an emergency situation, it is important to know what to do and to have the right supplies available. It is not likely that a physician will be in the car behind you, but you can have a well supplied first aid survival kit.
First Aid Kits are filled with supplies that can save lives in unexpected circumstances. A well stocked first aid kit helps you to respond to common emergencies and injuries. The supplies should be assembled into a lightweight plastic case, for easy storage access.
A well stocked first aid kit should be kept nearby at all times, particularly in the car and in the home. Keep the first aid kit in an easily accessible location. The whole family should be acquainted with the first aid kit. The kit should be stored out of the reach of young children. Adults and children old enough to know how to use the kit should know where the kit is stored.
