The Fourth of July is going to be full of fun, fireworks and fatty barbecue. So if you don't want to spend the holiday with your family, come to Milwaukee. For those of you that aren't familiar with Milwaukee, it's in the state of Wisconsin, also known as the Cheese State. Why is it so important to come to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, you ask? It's because the world's largest music festival, Summerfest, will be going on and there will only be four more days after the Fourth of July to enjoy good food and even greater music.

Summerfest is to Milwaukee as The Roswell UFO Festival is to Roswell, New Mexico. Ironically, the UFO festival runs from July 5th to the 8th. Out of a lot of things that Milwaukee is known for, Summerfest is the biggest one. The festival is also celebrating a big birthday, as this is the 40th anniversary.

It's nice to know that some of the best bands and solo acts in America, such as Lifehouse, Blue Oyster Cult, The Goo Goo Dolls and Lindsey Buckingham from the 70s band Fleetwood Mac, and some famous local bands like the Violent Femmes would all be in one place, especially a city like Milwaukee. New, up and coming bands such as Jack's Mannequin, who performed on the show One Tree Hill, and Rise Against will also visit Summerfest, which started on June 28th of this year and will run until the 8th of July.

On the 4th of July, the band Tool will be the headliners at the Marcus Amphitheater. Also playing in different venues will be the Black Crowes, all of the original members of the band Asia and the alternative rap group from the 90s, Arrested Development.

The band Tool has recorded four albums and has a very distinct cult following because of their very eclectic, and quite long, songs. It was the lead singer, Maynard James Keenan, who was also the lead singer of the band A Perfect Circle. With the Spice Girls reuniting, it would be great to see a band that has been going strong, even through their side projects.
