So, the fish died, or you bought a fish bowl but never used it - whatever the reason you have an empty fish bowl, don't throw it away. Use it to make something new and fabulous for your house. Whatever you make from the fish bowl doesn't have to be expensive. It can be something as simple as filling the bowl with artificial flowers and setting it in the bathroom or a bedroom.

Fish bowls have many uses around the house. Place a strand of white or clear mini lights under an upside-down fish bowl, and you'll have a beautiful lighted pedestal for a fancy dinner. Set a tray of goodies on top and mouths will water. Use a piece of non-skid shelf liner to keep the tray in position. The upside-down fish bowl light can be used in other areas of the home, too.

A large fish bowl can be used on the table as well. Fill it full of decorative or colorful objects, like flowers, confetti, colored water, or other items, then set a bowl of food on top of the mouth of the bowl. The fish bowl pedestal will be the talk of the table.

For a girl - or a mom - that has lots of hair ties, wraps and clips, the fish bowls make the perfect storage containers. Fill the bowl itself with ties and wraps, then attach the clips around the mouth of the bowl. The bowls can also hold colorful scarves. When needed, just grab a scarf from the bowl, and when not in use, the scarves in the fish bowl give a splash of color to a bathroom or bedroom.

Use a fish bowl instead of a basket when gifting. Fill the bowl with anything from flowers, to baby toys, to art supplies. The recipient doesn't have to dispose of an ugly vase afterwards, and he or she will find plenty of uses for it.

A small fish bowl can hold decorative soaps, bath salts, and other bath products. Or, tie a ribbon around the top edge and fill it full of samples. You can even roll wash cloths up and fill the fish bowl with them. There's lots of uses for the fish bowl in the bathroom.

Make a candle out of the fish bowl. Fill it full of candle gel, which is clear. If you want, insert craft fish, seaweed and other craft items, to make it look like a real bowl of fish. You'll find wicks, wax, and everything else you need, at craft or department stores.
