You've still got a busy day ahead of you. But it's barely noon, and you already feel like you need a nap.

Sometimes, fatigue strikes at the worst possible time. But there are things you can do to give yourself a quick energy boost.

Listen to Some Energizing Music

Have you ever been so tired you felt like you were ready to drop? Then, one of your favorite, lively songs came on the radio. You started singing along and, before you knew it, your exhaustion began to fade.

Sometimes, just listening to some rousing music is enough to give you an energy boost. And, if you're alone, singing or dancing to the music can give you even more energy.

Take a Ten-Minute Nap

Taking a short nap can give you a tremendous energy boost. The trick is not to let yourself sleep for too long. If you take a long nap, and allow yourself to fall into a deep sleep, you'll wake up feeling groggy, and more tired than you felt before your nap.

A ten minute nap is all you need to give your body and mind a reenergizing break.

When fatigue strikes, find a quiet place where you can be alone for ten minutes, set your alarm, and then catch some much needed Z's.

Breathe Deep

An influx of oxygen can give your body an energy boost.

Take several slow, deep breaths. If possible, lift your hands over your head and stretch. If you're inside, go outside and breathe in the fresh air.

The Cold Water Treatment

Splashing cold water on your face can make you feel more awake and alert. Holding a cold cloth on the back of your neck can have the same effect.

Recharge with a Snack

Eating certain fruits can help boost your energy in a hurry. The next time fatigue strikes, try snacking on one of the following.

* a banana

* an apple

* an orange

* apricots

* dates

* figs

* raisins

Act Like You're Not Tired

There's evidence that acting a certain way can actually have an effect on your body. Psychologists and medical doctors sometimes suggest their patient's smile, even when they don't feel like it. And, after a while, the patient's actually start to feel happier.

When fatigue strikes, don't dwell on it. Get up, move around, and perform every task with enthusiasm. After a while, you'll forget how tired you were.

Takeaways
  • Recharge with the right snack.
  • Act like you aren't tired.
  • Go outside and take some deep breaths.
