Begin your special evening this July fourth with a self-guided tour of the extraordinary gardens. Or prior to the show, enjoy dinner at the Family Fireworks BBQ or have a picnic in Longwood's wooded picnic area. At dusk, approximately 9:15pm, enjoy the impressive show of fireworks, fountains and music in true celebration of Independence Day! Be sure to bring something to sit on and extra money for dinner at one of the gardens sumptuous restaurants or a snack from the concession stands that open at 5pm.
Since at least 1907, the year after Pierre du Pont (1870-1954) purchased the property, fireworks have been used at Longwood. Now in their 29th year, the public Fireworks and Fountains festivals are always a huge success, with each display typically attracting approximately 5,000 people! Music for the shows is carefully chosen to complement the displays and the fountains and fireworks are operated flawlessly by synchronized computer programs.
Admission is by advance sale ticket only (although tickets can be purchased the day of the display if still available). Fireworks & Fountains tickets provide all-day admission to the Gardens. Prices are $30 for Adults and $14 for children, ages 15 and under. Special rates are available for Frequent Visitors and Groups of 15 or more. Ticket price includes all-day Gardens admission and parking. Tickets to the Family Fireworks BBQ cost $20 per adult, $12 for children ages 5-11 and children ages 4 and under eat free! To order tickets call 610-388-1000 ext. 100!
