Day 35-May 31, 2007

It was a very long hot night thanks to sweltering temperatures and it made for a very restless pod. When breakfast finally arrived at 6:45 everyone looked irritated and exhausted. It was oatmeal, brad, syrup, milk and Kool-aid. After breakfast, despite the heat, I went back to sleep.

We got out at 9 am and I watched TV and played cards until lunch arrived at 11:45 am. It was hamburgers, beans, coleslaw, cake and Kool-aid.

"S" left today even though she wasn't scheduled to go until Monday. She gave me what she had left of her canteen.

After lunch we watched TV until we went back onto lockback at 12:45 pm.

We were in our rooms until 4 pm. We played cards until dinner arrived at 4:45 pm. It was hamburger helped, bread, carrots, apple cobbler and Kool-aid. After dinner we played cards until 6:30 pm. At 6:30 pm a church group arrived and help church until 7:30 pm. At 7:30 pm we were put back on lockback.

Today ends my 5th week here and I only have 10 days remaining. It seems that I have been here forever and now it's the home stretch. We got out at 10 pm and watched TV until 10:45 pm at which time we got put back on lockback. Now will begin the night that will lead to...day 36.
