Review of the 2006 Honda Civic

The 2006 Honda Civic may be the best Civic yet. Trying to appeal more to the younger generation of car shoppers, the 2006 Honda Civic was produced with a major emphasis on design and innovation. While many new models of compact cars appear to be following the motto that bigger is better, the 2006 Honda Civic has actually shrunk a little, instead focusing on what attracts consumers to Honda in the first place: performance, durability, and design.

What’s new for 2006? All 2006 Civics have a more forceful and efficient 1.8 liter engine and a more sophisticated interior design, featuring a 2-tier instrumental panel with an analog tachometer and digital speedometer right above it. The 200 Honda Civic Hybrid models have improved, but there is no hatchback this year. Safety has also improved- all 2006 Honda Civic models feature curtain side airbags and ABS.

The exterior design is sleeker all around, particularly on the 2006 Honda Civic Coupe. While trunk capacity and rear leg room has been minimized a bit, the style of the coupe is innovative and smoother than ever- with a laid back windshield and a tight tire to fender gap.

The horsepower has been increased for every model. All 2006 Honda Civic Models with a DX, LX, or EX trim are powered by SOHC 1.8 liter, 4 cylinder engine with Honda’s I-VTEC system. The 2006 Honda Civic Coupe is the fastest yet, featuring a powerful 197-horsepower engine, sport toned suspension, and effortless 6-speed manual clutch.
