Established in 1993, The Dock at the Bay in Buffalo, NY, has been serving patrons as far back as the 1800’s. Once known as the Bayview Inn and prior to, the Willink Hotel/Tavern, founded by Nathanial Titus in 1806, the Dock is located where Lake Erie adjoins the Niagara River heading south toward Angola, NY. This historic landmark has changed names and ownership several times but the legends still persist of barroom scuffles, soldiers’ tales, and hauntings on the premises. Today, this establishment is best known for its fine-dining ambiance, live nightly entertainment in the summer through fall, and lakeside “spirits” featuring a fine wine list and first class bar year round. The Dock at the Bay offers a wide variety of seafood and steak dishes and serving only the finest Icelandic Cod, Certified Angus beef, ribs, Australian lobster, crab legs, salmon, and shrimp presentations daily. A beautiful view of Lake Erie, overlooking Canada in close proximity to the Peace Bridge, a breathtaking sunset, and bottle of quality Chardonnay exquisitely compliments my entrée of maple-glazed salmon. A grilled filet of salmon served over rice with a maple and pecan butter and side dish of sweet, mashed potato is the delightful prelude to a live jazz band outside and dancing below a star-filled summer night.
