New iPhone Applications Announced by Funambol and Unbound Medicine

iPhone customers who are looking for content to download on their mobile phones must check out these two new applications recently announced by Funambol and Unbound Medicine.

Mobile Contacts application for the iPhone

Funambol, an open source software company, announced in a press release that they will be inviting consumers to join the myFUNAMBOL portal so they can access email, contacts, and calendars on their ordinary cell phones and they will also be providing the first over-the-air mobile contacts application for the Apple iPhone.

However, myFUNAMBOL is currently available to users who has invitation. iPhone users who has the over-the-air contacts application for their phone can access their myFUNAMBOL address book on their phone so that they can make calls, send email and even map locations using Google Maps. myFUNAMBOL can facilitate a user's migration from his old device to the iPhone over-the-air.

myFUNAMBOL also supports other mobile devices like Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson.

According to Funambol's press release, Fabrizio Capobianco, Funambol's CEO, said, “The iPhone is the most anticipated phone in the history of the mobile industry, and Funambol is very excited to offer the first over-the-air application to enable iPhone users to use their preexisting contacts to drive iPhone services such as mobile email, Google Maps and voice calls.
