The time has come for generation X to become an adult, mother, father, and US citizen. Yes my friends we are the next generation of grown folks. Some of you will say "I know I'm grown" but, are you acting like it? Do you have an urge to make things better in America? Are you worried about your future? Do you vote?

If you answered "no" to any of those questions then you need to wake up. I'm not trying to be hard on you, I'M JUST TRYING TO BE HARD ON YOU!

If you are in your 30's and you don't care about these fundamental issues than you do need to wake up. Some will say "voting doesn't matter" and you may have a point. But let me tell you this, if voting doesn't matter than we have bigger problems on our hands. This country is built on us, the American Citizen. Now more than ever do we need to make our voices heard. Some of us did this past election and we saw some change. How do we make sure that change continues... keep pushing to be heard. The "powers that be" won't just go away. We took their power and believe me they want it back. Write your congressperson, call your councilperson, call the mayor, governor, even your senators and ask them, "Are you doing something about healthcare?"... "Will we have social security in the future?"... "Why is college tuition so high?"... "Why are there not more manufacturing companies in our city and state."...and so on. Stop waiting for someone else to do it... you do it. If you have bought anything in a store and you paid sales tax on it guess what? You paid part of that elected officials salary. This makes you their boss. We pay these people to represent us and we NEED to make them represent us. If we don't voice our concerns than nothing will get done and the only people that will be heard are the "powers that be"

But I don't wanna grow up! :p Seriously, you bring up some very good points. We all need to take more responsibility for our own lives and our own country.
