Summer is in full swing and that means the bugs have arrived. Humidity and heat are a favorite for these creepy crawly little creatures. No one enjoys a summer barbecue or camping trip when you continuously are getting bit or bothered by bugs. With so many tiny creatures in the world, how do you know which to look out for?

Here is a list of pests you should keep an eye out for while spending time outdoors: These castles beneath the earth are everywhere. There are many different types of fire ants, the most common being the red imported fire ant. These ants are a reddish-brown and they measure around 1/8" long. These creatures will make their homes underground and create a mound of dirt over their nest. The mounds can grow over 18 inches in height! Some of the most common places these ants will choose to make a home are lawns, parks, playgrounds, fields, and pastures. They have even been known to nest inside of the walls in buildings. If you are ever stung by a fire ant, you might feel a sharp pain followed by a burning sensation. If you are unfortunate enough to step on an ant mound, you will most likely acquire many stings at once. Each of these stings will evolve into an itchy blistered area by the next day. If you are stung and experience breathing problems or chest and throat tightness you may be allergic to these ants and will need to find medical attention immediately. However, in most typical cases much more simple steps can be taken for your bites -

-Fire Ants:
