Favorite Summertime Treats We All Enjoy

The summer brings us so many things to enjoy. Some of us enjoy these treats while doing an activity, and other treats are simply enjoyed as we try to cool off from the heat. No matter your reason for selecting a special summertime treat, these treats are sure to please.

Lemonade - Whether purchased from a child's lemonade stand for a quarter, or from an icy cooler at a deli, lemonade is a popular summertime treat that most people enjoy from May through September. Often it reminds us of childhood and happy times.

Iced Tea - This is another popular favorite. In southern states, sweet tea is also served and is a form of iced tea. Some people like to make iced tea directly from tea bags and others like to make iced tea from a mix. No matter your preference, a cool tall glass of iced tea with a slice of lemon is the perfect refreshing treat for a summer's day.

Hot Dog - Many think of baseball games or carnivals when they think of hot dogs. Hot dogs are popular year-round, but they become extra popular during the summer month. There is even a National Hot Dog Month, held every July. So how is the perfect "dog" served? Do you like yours with mustard, ketchup and sauerkraut? Or do you like yours with sweet relish? Everyone has a preference for their "dogs".

Popcorn - This is a favorite of state fairs and carnivals. At this point you can get popcorn in many different flavors. Some like caramel flavored popcorn, others like cheese popcorn - those are just some of the classic flavors that popcorn comes in. Then there is old fashioned buttered movie popcorn that we all enjoy!

Ice Cream - You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream! Everyone knows that favorite rhyme. Who doesn't start to think about wanting ice cream when they hear the tinkle of the ice cream truck? Many of us remember eating an ice cream cone or ice cream sandwich as a child during the summer months, and we continue this habit as adults. Now there are even sugar-free and low-fat versions of our favorite treats. How lucky can you get?
