Backing up your important files is a necessity and using a program that is not only easy but accurate is important. Let's face it, Windows does not make good backup and recovery software but they do have an adequate one if you just don't want to spend the money on some other program.
If you want to back up your whole computer and use all that drive space you can use the Windows backup and hope you don't run out of drive space or use too many discs.
I prefer to only back up the important files I need for my work and fun but not all the programs that I can just reload later, if I do have some problem I will reload all those programs. In my line of work where I regularly add and remove programs and hardware it is pretty likely I will some day crash my drive for good. So I only save necessary work and keep my work files backed up regularly and this program is great for my use.
I want a backup program that lets me pick and choose what I want to back up, when to do it, and a quick way to run that back up at a non scheduled time and date. I found a few good back up programs and really like Backup4all from Softland.

I have been trying to get intouch with backup4all via their email contact process for a week with no response. Have they closed up shop?

Actually Backup4all can show warnings and prompt you for a solution before continuing (feature detailed here http://www.backup4all.com/templates/online-help/options_backup.htm is called "Show file warnings"). That's unchecked by default because lots of users don't want to have any manual intervention until the backup is finished.
