For any Christian, it is obvious that one might go though a dry spell, or a time of feeling detached from God, His will, and so on. Time and again, devotion to Christ in daily living can seem lofty or daunting - something that is hard to grasp and entertain. We are called to worship Christ in all things, each day, while praying ceaselessly. How is this possible?

Obviously it is the goal of Christians everywhere to love, obey and enjoy God the Father, His son Christ and in doing so live through the Holy Spirit. We know that Christ's blood redeemed all of us for the sake of His glory played out on earth, that is, so we can work to our ability to live and glorify Him. So how do we apply the mandate of life in loving service to our actual lives?

Daily time spent in the Word of God is crucial to personal and spiritual growth, and God's ultimate plan for humanity is displayed so simply throughout His Bible. Romans 12:1-2 essentially explains Christianity within its two verses.

Verse one: "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship." Paul, the author of Romans, writes this to speak clearly the inherent truth that worship, which often seems so lofty and hard to understand, is not only contained in singing songs and hymns, but it is a daily lifestyle.

Following Christ, then, is not a goal that is difficult to grasp, it is the living of one's life in a way that honors God. By living in kindness and love and rejoicing in the opportunities that God gives to us daily (since God is sovereign, after all, nothing is coincidence - all is according to the Lord's plan), we can and do worship Him with every step, in every word and every action.
