Mira Mesa is featuring fun events this Independence Day. It starts off at 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. where the San Diego Regional Teen Center which 
United States of America is at 8450 Mira Mesa Blvd. will have an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for just five dollars per person. Mira Mesa will then host a parade which will begin at 11:30 a.m. starting at the Mesa Shopping Center on Greenford and ending at Camino Ruiz. The theme this year will be A Salute to Our Military and Cpl Shannon Evans will be bestowed the honor of Grand Marshal. She works for MCAS Miramar as a military police officer. Then from 12:00 p.m. until dusk, they will have many festivities at the Mira Mesa Community Park which is located on 8575 New Salem Street. They will food booths which include ice cream for all attendees along with Independence Day t-shirts and necklaces which can be purchased. They will also feature stage acts which includes Mr. Mique's karate studio. Then finally at 9:00 p.m. fireworks will begin at Mira Mesa High School (10510 Regan Road) that can be seen from a distance. If you are near your vehicle, be sure to have your radio set to KyXy 96.5 FM because the music will be in unison with the fireworks.

The City Recreation Department is hosting fireworks along with food this Independence Day. At 12:00 p.m., many foods and beverages will be available such as hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, soda and snow cones for all attendees. They will also be selling necklaces. The fireworks will then begin here at 9:00 p.m. so bring the family down.
