Making it as an Interior Redesigner

You don't need any special qualifications to become a successful interior redesigner (as opposed to interior designing or decorator, which has far more demanding parameters). Basically, you should have an ability to judge spaces (including the potential for hidden storage space), lighting requirements, color schemes and contrasts, furniture styles, etc. and a 'feel' for upholstery and curtain fabrics. If you can do this then you can become a successful interior redesigner. Interior redesigners are a lot less inexpensive than interior decorators, so many people are willing to spend the money and use an interior redesigner to redesign their home. Because of popular TV shows like HGTV, interior redesigning is becoming big business and those with a creative flair can have a very successful business offering interior redesigning and home staging services to homeowners and real estate agents. 

How much interior redesigning you do for homeowners will be decided by how many rooms they want you to decorate or redecorate and how much they are willing to spend. Someone with a house costing at least one million dollars will more than likely want you to do the entire interior redesigning in their home. Homeowners with less expensive homes may only want one or two rooms redesigned. Before you do any interior redesigning on the house, you will do a consultation first with the homeowner to discuss any interior redesigning ideas instructing the homeowner on what changes are needed and what type of interior redesigning will take place.
