A Plea to Liberal Democrats: Don't Support Hillary

A prominent news item this week has been Barack Obama's historic fund-raising successes in recent months. His campaign just reported raising $31 million dollars for use in the primary race. According to Mr. Obama, "...we have built the largest grass-roots campaign in history for this stage of a presidential race."

And that may be true. But what is also true is that Obama - along with everyone else - has yet to overcome what has been touted as the "inevitability" of a Clinton nomination. The former First Lady still leads all Democratic contenders in national polls. She must be stopped.

Her success is surprising to many, as Clinton is arguably the most polarizing (read: hated) public figure in the United States today, her only current competition being the sitting lame duck whom she is seeking to replace.

On the "left," Clinton is not very well liked at all. Many liberal Democrats have thrown their support behind Obama or John Edwards, often with their main aim being to dethrone Clinton from her frontrunner position. The people that keep her on the top of the list include "pragmatic" centrist and conservative-leaning Democrats who actually believe it's easier to beat a conservative by being... kinda conservative. Add to that naïve liberals who think Hillary is actually one of them, and there you have Hillary's base.

There's not much I can do about the centrist/conservative Democrats, but if you know that you're left-of-center and you think Clinton is an acceptable (or the most acceptable) candidate, read on and be convinced that Clinton is not only the absolute worst candidate in the Democrat field, but also one of the least likely to win.

Did You Know?
The "liberal" Hillary Clinton fought to weaken the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform bill, and told Feingold to "live in the real world." Unlike the rest of her competition, Clinton takes money from lobbyists and corporate PACs.

Be prepared to write anothrer title ' Join the Party Nominee in Fight Against Republicans', because she will win this nomination. Her likability numbers have reversed the picture from a year ago, making her electable. She does well with rural farm communities, teachers, labor, and everyone else except liberal 18-30 somethings. A year ago I feared the liberal vote would fall passionately in love with Obama, but become disheartened and angry once their hero failed in the race for the nomination and decide not to vote in the general. This is what can happen, and its what usually happens. Its sad, but liberals need to learn how to pick winners. Republicans fight dirty, we cant just lay back and take their hits and expect to win the White House. Obama waited months to do what he should have been doing in the first place:attack Bill Clinton. Obama waits for weeks to hit back a punch from Hillarys camp. This guy cannot campaign worth a stick, we need someone who does. Hillarys good on the iss

I don't know that she is "terrible on the issues" so much as that she is changing her opinions and rhetoric with the poll numbers. At this point I don't even know what her stands on some of the major issues actually are! She has the rare power of saying a lot without actually telling you anything.

As author of "The Richard Nixon Aspect of Hillary Clinton," I was glad to find this!

I wonder if US citizens are ready to have a President who was being impeached as "first man" in the White House. That alone, should make Hillary disqualifed to run as President. I never followed politics much so not informed about that money scandel the Clintons had. Were they cleared of wrong doing? This race is a sticler for me, because I have to make a choice between "no" to those who voted "yes" on the Patriot Act or "no" to those that deny females reproductive freedom or liberty by giving a microsocopic cell more rights than her. Hillary's stance on the war has me disappointed in her as a compassionate woman.

Isn't this a general plea to humanity? It's like sitting on the eve of Stalin and begging people not to let him take the keys.
