The Tankless water heater is also known as demand water heaters. This is because when compared to the conventional water heaters these worf on an as needed basis. The Tankless water heater has a basic heating device. When the water valve is opened the flow of water is activated. This triggers a continuous supply of hot water. The rate of the flow of heated water can be controlled by the thermal output of the heater. As the heater works on "use it as you need it" technology the energy consumption is lowered drastically. This ultimately translates into saving of electricity bill.

Almost all the models of the Tankless water heater have a life expectancy of 15 to 20 years. Most of the parts are also recyclable and easily available. Though it costs more it is preferred to the conventional water heaters because the demand water heater guarantees an endless supply of hot water. The rate at which water gets heated is amazing.

The compact design of the heater offers the space for additional storage and water softener.
However it should be noted that the Tankless water heater is not very efficient when two or more lines draw water from the heater simultaneously. Hence the hot water required for various tasks like dish washing, bathroom and laundry purposes should be judiciously scheduled and carried out. There is a limit to the amount of water than can flow through the unit at a particular time.

It is observed that the regular water heater uses energy to heat and re-heat a tank of standing and stored water to provide a continuous supply of hot water. The gadget looses more energy as the heat is constantly radiated out. Both these factors result in lowering the efficiency of the conventional heater. Contrary to this the Tankless water heater does not utilize any energy until there is a requirement of hot water. It is environmental friendly too.
