An Artist Review of Maria Callas

In my opinion, Maria Callas is, without a doubt, the best female singer to walk planet earth. Her vocals defied the female human instrument, hence why every performance was never less than outstanding. You could hand her an opera aria and she could turn it into an artform because she was so amazingl
y gifted on a variety of wavelengths, despite the criticism she received in the 50s and 60s era. Everything from her incredible adaption to music she was given to her amazing ability to project and make you believe what she sang. In fact, if you watch some of her performances, you feel as if you were effected and as a result, you may even shead a few tears. Maria was flexible in terms of performing a variety of styles, including arias that possessed an upbeat and fun variety to the slower, yet more serious arias.

I love and appreciate the opera aria "O Mio Babbino Caro" and as I was attempted to find out which opera singers and classical crossovers performed this song, I had the pleasure of coming across Maria Callas's rendition. It is, without a doubt, the best version I have ever heard. As the aria is a very authentic, Italian prose, developed into an unique aria to add color, life, and emotion to a love story. When I first heard it performed by Maria, I cried. Everything from the combination of the amazing vocals to extensive emotion to supreme soul, Maria brought this song to life and made it into more than just music, but an art form, as a result. Maria had the voice that didn't need any music composition, collaboration, nor engineering.

Maria is deceased and although, she is deceased, her legend remains. She has achieved great praise in the music industry for being supremely talented. In fact, she is one of the deceased artists that had the pleasure of receiving a grammy in 2007. I think she is very much deserving of that praise, as she is a legend in her own right. She definitely brought a lot to the industry. She has also mastered more than what many artists today can dream of mastering, hence why she is more than just a master, but a legend.

There was, is and will always be ONE La Divina. May artists could and would sing same arias as she did, but that's it, they could only sing, but not bring these arias to life like La Divina did

Hiya. La Divina is one of my favorite singers. It's cool to read about her on this site! :o) I get confused about some of what you say, tho. If a voice is not perfect, then it has to be imperfect, ay? Callas had a flawed voice, but her greatness is in her ability to use to flaws to her advantages, I think. A wonderful voice actress whose passion and communicativeness transcended her flaws. The pre-1957 voice was impressive, too. I wish things had turned out better for her in the end. Thanks for writing this up! :o)
