HIllary and Bill: Inveterate Hypocrites
"Pardon" Me, but You Can't Have it Both Ways!
On to the Presidential Pardons! Billary must either have a severe lapse of memory, in which case she isn't fit for the Oval Office, or she felt obliged to join in with the other jackals while they shriek about Libby's pardon. Perhaps both.
Her husband, the Teflon President obsessed with his legacy as former president, was able to execute 395 pardons while in office! The amazing aspect of that number is that 140 of them were issued in his final hours as president. Does Hillary forget the most famous (or infamous, in this case) of those pardons: the Marc Rich pardon.
Financier Marc Rich fled the country on tax evasion charges. There were charges at the time that his people used their influence and campaign contributions to effect the absolution that Clinton bestowed upon him. Clinton was deep into attorney bills at the time as a result of his legal difficulties (too numerous to mention in this article). You can draw your own conclusions. That is, if you are not a political ideologue and can face the messy truth.
Even worse, Bubba didn't consult with the Office of Pardon Attorney, according to the February 14, 2001 testimony by The Pardon Attorney, Roger Adams, during his appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee. The office, part of the Justice Department, was established in 1981 to assist the president in the exercise of the pardon power.
