Shooter, Starring Mark Wahlberg, on Target

I was very happy when Shooter came out on DVD Tuesday, since I didn't get the chance to see it at the theater. It was everything I expected and more.Non-stop action. Chases. Blood. Good plot. And of course, Mark Wahlberg. He was very believable as a former Marine scout sniper named Bob
Lee Swagger. Ever the patriot, even when his country left him to die in Ethiopia, he rises to the challenge when asked to help stop a planned
assassination of the President. Instead of the President dying, another man is hit, seemingly in a round gone awry. Bob is then shot, planned to
be killed and framed as the would-be assassin. He gets away, and mayhem ensues as one government body after another is searching for
Bob Lee Swagger. In the end, Bob Lee's skills are greatly underestimated, and through much bloodshed, he in the end gets his man. Or men, as
it were.
This action flick also stars Danny Glover as a very arrogant and convincing bad guy, and Michael Pena as a green FBI agent who ends up helping
Bob Lee Swagger prove his innocence.
I rank this movie five stars, right up there with action classics such as The Jackal, The Die Hard movies, and the Bourne movies. I have already
watched it twice, and plan to buy it and watch it many more times in the future.
The DVD also contains deleted scenes, a "Making of" featurette, commentary from director Antione Fuqua (who also directed Training Day),
and a featurette called "Independence Hall". The movie is 125 minutes an is rated "R" for violence and language.
