Decorating Your Home for a Baby Shower

There are several different ways that you can go about decorating your home for a baby shower! The first thing you need to do is pick a theme. If it is a girl than you will probably want to do something that a girl would like. The same goes for a boy. You can check and see what theme the mother has for the babies room and use that as your theme when decorating your home for the baby shower. If the mother does not have any theme, then you can pick one yourself. If you are not sure what the gender of the baby is than you can pick a neutral theme like Winnie the pooh for your baby shower decorations. 

The next thing you will need to do is decide where you are going to put the food, and how you are going to set up the chairs. Some people like to set things up like a meeting style. What they do is put several rows of chairs in a line and then put a big chair for the mom at the front. The style also depends greatly on the type of food that you will be serving. Keep in mind that if you plan on serving dinner, some foods will be a bit difficult to eat on your lap. And if the room if set up in a meeting style then everyone will be eating on their laps. If you only plan on serving appetizers and dessert than this style would more than likely work well for your home baby shower. 

Another option is to set the room up like a small restaurant. I got this idea from the many restaurants in my area that used to be houses. What they did was convert these old homes to a restaurant using long tables, or short square tables. You may be thinking that you need a large home for this type of baby shower, but you really do not, it just takes a little creativity. If you have a basement this idea will really work great. Depending on the number of people you have you will have to determine how many tables will be needed. For the small square tables they usually only seat four.
