Here are the answers for the The Sopranos ain't high-pitched singers Quiz. A reminder: "T" is for "Truth", "F" is for "Bald-Faced Lie" or "TF" is for "Half-Truth".
1) T: It's true that actor Tony Sirico's 1971 felony weapons possession conviction landed him in New York's notorious Sing Sing prison for twenty months. Not long after his release, Sirico discovered acting. His new career began when he played (what else?) a mobster in the 1974 film "Crazy Joe", the biopic about made-man Joey Gallo.
For over forty years, Sirico has had no trouble with the law, except on television or in the movies.
2) TF: This anecdote is both true and false. It's true that the "Bada Bing" stripper club scenes are shot at the real-life "Satin Dolls" strip club in northern New Jersey, and they sell "Bada Bing" T-shirts and other memorabilia there.
In fact, Satin Dolls is one of forty stops on an actual northern New Jersey "Sopranos Bus Tour." Another location stop is where the "Satriale's Pork Store" exterior scenes are shot. It's false that "Satriale's" is a real butcher shop called Sciamataro Brothers. The production company actually rented the empty "Satriale's" building for its storefront.
The Pork Store scenes, however, were originally supposed to be shot at Centanni's Meat Market, a real butcher shop. The owners, however, decided against it before the show's pilot was shot because they'd have to close down their business each time "The Sopranos" was shot there.
3) F: It's false that "Sopranos" creator David Chase cast John Travolta for the Tony Soprano role. Also, Travolta shot "Get Shorty" several years before the first "Sopranos" episode.
4) T: It's true that Michael Imperioli co-wrote the Spike Lee-directed film "Summer of Sam." He also appeared in a small role in the film. Although he was originally set to play a much bigger role, he had to back out of "Summer of Sam" to participate in the first season of "The Sopranos."
5) T: It's true that the Christopher character shot a teenager in the foot in a "Sopranos" scene, replicating the "Goodfellas" scene where Imperioli's character "Spider" gets shot in the foot by Pesci's character.
