AmySpeak; Or Remembering to Speak like Others Will Remember ... Because They Will!

Have you even met someone, and they speak in such a way that what they say, good or bad, sticks in your head, and just stays there?

The things that they say are not any more profound or brilliant than what anyone else says, but they say it in a way or form that impacts you.

This is the case with Amy.

And today, I am going to give some examples of things that Amy has said to my wife and I over the last few years, and how words can means so much.

Easily the most impactful thing that Amy ever said was actually something that she wrote in an email to me before she had even met me. About 6 months after I started writing LOVE WORKS, she sent your, ever so humble, author a note that included the phrase... FOLLOW SPIRIT WITHOUT HESITATION.....

That simple phase...along with LOVE WORKS....is now part of personal philosophy and daily life. So simply put...it freed me from fear, and lets me do something, if even for only a moment, just because "spirit" is guiding me to.

I had always really kinda done that...

But now...when faced with a choice...I try to follow spirit without hesitation. I remember that phrase every day!

The next thing I remember that has stuck with me was one time when the alternator had gone out on our car when we were visiting Amy and her family, shortly after we met her. After several trips taking us to the garage, I noted to Amy how great it was that she and others had helped us out and were treating us so nice....

Her response... WELL, YOU ARE JUST GONNA HAVE TO GET USED TO IT.....

That was the most wonderful thing to say at that moment. Having her (and their) friendship was not just today... because we were in trouble and things were not going well... the love was not conditional based on everything going great. We really felt loved, ongoing, and I have never forgotten that.

Months later, the new phrase was..... MORE WILL BE REVEALED...

Isn't that the truth? As frustrating as the sentiment is... that is how life plays out. We don't really get to relive the past, nor plan the future.

It comes to us a bit at a time. And there is no point getting worked up about it.

I want it to be revealed today! And I want it to be revealed the way I want it to turn out!
