I came across SPACE Cat litter in my local Trader Joe's. I am always on the hunt for a great cat litter, so when I saw the SPACE cat litter I decided to give it a try.

Click here to see a video review of SPACE cat litter or you can finish reading what I have to say.

I tried SPACE Cat litter and because it was very light weight and cost about what my other cat litters cost. I also thought it might be great because it was the last box on the shelf.

When choosing a cat litter there are three qualities I look for. How much does it weigh, how much does it cost, and does it work. Obviously a cat litter that works is the best.

The litter is Silica Gel, the highest capacity absorbent available. Silica is one of the most abundant elements on earth. These little white granules are not gel like when you touch them, they feel sort of hard. It looks like those other white cat litters that have blue flecks in them, but it is very light weight.

I have two cats, so when the box said one box would last one month I was skeptical. I went online and found out that one box with one cat equals one month. So, I then expected the SPACE cat litter to last 2 weeks.

It did! Ok, so the price was good, about $5 and it was lightweight.

Now, I really also like the color of the SPACE cat litter. It is white, my bathroom floor is white, and the cats have a tendency to kick their clay litter around. So, I did not have to look at it.

The SPACE cat litter also kept the smells at bay.

With all of this in mind there are always drawbacks to any cat litter. That is because it is cat litter! Now, at the end of two weeks the litter had turned yellow and lost all ability to do anything good. I dumped the whole thing of litter and started fresh.

When I first dumped the SPACE cat litter in the litter box it kicked up a ton of dust, so be careful. It says non-toxic, but it is the dustiest cat litter I have used to far.

My final complaint is how noisy it is when the cats are in the box; it even seemed to startle the cats at first.

Overall though, I do like SPACE Cat litter and would buy it again. I can not say it is my favorite, but it does work!

I disagree 100%! Very dissatisfied. I also have two cats, There is urine in the bottom of the pan, "solids" are hard to capture and remove, silica crystal everywhere on hardwood floors that are not pleasant to step on. Throwing it out and going back the clumping clay!!
