Recently I purchased three Creative Zen V mp3 players for myself and my children. At first, I was leary, after all, kids can operate any device within moments, but as for me, no such luck. I have been
pleasantly surprised by the sleek design and ease of use.

It is important to remember when purchasing a portable device that there could be compatability issues with the download service you use. I personally use Yahoo Music, I find it easy to navigate and the selection is great. the price is an easy $14.99 per month, and allows for up to four portable devices on the user account. Yahoo offers a list of compatible devices on the site, by typing the term into the searchbar.

The Zen V is touted as an "out of the box" setup. This was absolutely true. The user guide offers a quick starting guide that is easy for anyone to understand, and there's no reason the average person could not breeze through registration and have their unit charging within ten minutes, start to finish. I found the charge time on this device to be very short, my player was ready to accept music after only a three hour charge. In order to get the full 1000 songs on the player, it is important to use the Creative Zen interface on your desktop to add music to the device. It is incredibly easy to understand, and walks you through the process step-by-step. The Creative Zen Media Explorer will compress the audio files to maximize space. With this, if you add no video files, one can reasonably expect to fit 975-1000 songs, as advertised. If adding music to your device through the Yahoo Music program, you could expect between 275-300 songs before the device is full. It is a major difference worth noting. During your registration and setup, several icons including Creative Zen Media Explorer will automatically populate your desktop.
