Where to Find Homes for Rent in Southwest Florida

As a renter I have searched the internet near and far for websites that show homes for rent. Most the time you will find apartments and room rentals online, but no websites that are exclusive to people strictly searching for homes to rent. Here I will list for you a few sites to make you
 home searching more convenient.

My favorite website to visit would have to be www.homerentals.net. Not only does the site offer homes in our area for rent (more than 400 listings) but it also offers homes all around Florida and the nation! I like www.homerentals.net because you don't have to "sign-up" or be a realator or view the homes for rent. The website also lists a lot of information about the home that most sites don't. Things such as square-footage, all fees, pets acceptable and also things that are included in the price of rent such as lawn-service and pest control. I also like that the site has a search page where you can search exactly what you are looking for and in a what price range and only those matching will appear. I would highly recommend trying this site if you are looking for a home in Lee County Florida.

Another website you can try is www.fortmyers.craigslist.org . Craigslist is a great place to find not only homes for annual rent but also vacation rentals as well. Simply go to the website and click the link that most fits what you are looking for under housing. On the Craigslist website you can also search by price and amenities. The only complaint I have about their search engine is that you will get vacation rentals mixed in with annual rentals, so be aware of that. Also some of the ads may mislead you to believe the house is much cheaper than it really is. For example you may come across an ad that reads "New Home for rent 3/2/2 $600" only to read in small print that it's $600 bi-weekly and the total rent will be $1200 a month.

LoL, I have no idea how to go about buying a house, nor do I want to at this point. With crappy homes starting in the 150's and decent homes in the 200-250's I'm never going to buy! That's why I wrote the article, for people like me who want to rent a house not an apartment, and have no immediate plans to buy.

Good work. It's a little too dated. Maybe a how-to guide for buying homes there?
