It appears that the big trade which sent seven time all-star Ray Allen to the Celtics in exchange for Jeff Green, Wally Sczerbiak and Delonte West may just be the beginning for the Boston Celtics. In fact, if there were bets being taken on the subject, the odds would be very stacked against the Celtics opening the season with their current roster.

Celtics GM Danny Ainge certainly does not seem like he is satisfied with the current roster and he has made it abundantly clear with just one sentence that there is still work to be done.

"We're obviously not done with our roster yet," he said in an interview with the Boston Globe.

The fact that there has not been a move since the draft night trade does not mean that there will not be anything happening soon but it may be an indication that the Celtics are seeing how the market will play out.

"We're not close to doing anything, but we've been looking at a lot of players who could be a good fit for us," he added. "We're looking at a lot of free agents at all different levels - sign-and-trade free agents and mid-level guys. We're also looking at what trades might be out there that could work for us."

The Celtics still have some holes to fill and are certainly looking for a veteran player at the point guard position as well as a veteran in the front court and while they are still a player in the trade market, they are primarily looking for free agents right now.

Two of the most intriguing free agent players for the Celtics might be Marcus Camby and Derek Fisher. Camby, who played college basketball at the University of Massachusetts, would be a great defensive front court player and he could play the center position, where the Celtics desperately need help.

Fisher could be a great veteran guard to help develop Rajon Rando and Gabe Pruitt. Fisher has said that he will go to a team where the city could offer great medical care for his daughter, who has cancer of the eye, and Boston is known for its great medical care.

good trade for c's adding one of the purest shooters in the nba [Ray Allen] wont hurt unless he gets hurt...still if c's want to contend in the weak east they will need to get some fire power besides Jefferson. If c's could get Kevin Garnett or the closest quality post player available they should be able to contend for a championship. Hope Garnett catches wind of what Ainge is selling.

I still don't think Paul Pierce and Ray Allen can co-exist on the same team. Iverson and Melo hasn't particularly worked and I don't think this combo will be any different. Basketball is about having the right balance and that's why the Spurs have been so effective of late.
