Cell phones have become a part of everyday life that people can't seem to leave home without it. More so for the urban professional of today as they can't seem to leave their cell phones for a few minutes without it ringing. And just about everyone I know in the corporate world would sport a BlackBerry.
The quadband RIM BlackBerry 8800 is the latest of the long line of BlackBerry smart phones out in the market. Still retaining the full QWERTY board that makes the RIM Blackberry 8800 the ultimate cell and email messaging phone, the design has been changed to give that sleek and sexy design with added features sure to keep the mobile professional gripping on the smart phone for hours.
Standing at 4.4x2.6x0.5 inches, slightly taller than its recent predecessor the 8700c, the RIM BlackBerry 8800's 2.5-inch LCD screen displays a vibrant 320 X 240 resolution as well as a light-sensing technology that will automatically adjust the backlights for a more comfortable view.
Multimedia functions have been added to the RIM BlackBerry 8800, allowing users to listen to music using the most popular formats (MP3, WMA), play MP4 and WMV videos under its 64MB internal memory and mini USB support. And if the memory size isn't enough, they even included a microSD slot to fit in your favorite music library. Music pauses when an incoming call is received and continues once it ends, at the same time can use your favorite song as the ring tone.
Other functions have been included in the RIM BlackBerry 8800 such as Bluetooth 2.0 for hands-free kits as well as a push-to-talk (PTT) function available in Cingular. And for the road tripper, you'd be very happy for the RIM BlackBerry 8800's GPS function, and surprisingly accurate though the pinpoint lock takes a bit of time, you'll be surprised how long it held on until the end of the trip. The GPS service has to be subscribed, though. And if you know your way around the country as you drive, you can spoil yourself on the RIM BlackBerry 8800's Internet browser that support full HTML links.
