Michigan Weather, Muskegon Michigan

Well fellow Muskegon people, and those who are visiting us, today is going to be hot! With highs ranging around 84 to 88 degrees with a humidity level of 47 percent. What does this mean? If you are going to Muskegon's Summer Celebration be sure to wear sunscreen. The temperature will remain steady for the evening hours, but the humidity will be kicking up to over 50 percent, so you women who are worried about your hair style at the INXS concert tonight might want to consider an updo!

For those who are heading to Pere Marquette to have some fun at the Big Red Beach Party, please remember to dress appropriately. Thongs are illegal in Michigan, and so is topless bathing. Be sure to say hello to MTV's Real World and Road Rules celebrities that are on hand for autographs. You will find Lake Michigan's water temperature to be right around 67 degrees, so its a little cool, but not so much to turn you blue. Please use some common courtesy while traveling the beach, there are still plenty of sand sculptures from the contest a few days ago that many haven't been able to see yet.

For the boaters you will find the waves are going to be 1-2 feet, with a SW wind between 10 and 15 knots. There has been many salmons being caught out on Lake Michigan lately, so why not cast out a line and give fishing the Great Lakes a try.

Please make sure to drink a lot of water today to keep yourself hydrated. Muskegon County is extremely busy this week with all of the events that are out there to do, so the last thing anyone wants is to make a trip to the hospital for dehydration.
