You may have heard that some people are choosing to engage in a raw food diet rather than eating cooked food. Is this healthy? Advocates of the raw food diet claim it is indeed healthy. In fact it is
claimed to be much healthier than eating a diet of cooked and processed foods.

It is common knowledge that cooking does remove some vital minerals and vitamins from foods during the cooking process. It is thought that there are many health benefits of eating raw foods such as lower blood pressure, weight loss, more energy and better overall health. Consuming a raw food diet can alleviate many health conditions including migraines, arthritis, depression, anxiety, skin disease, fatigue and may even be beneficial in the prevention of cancer.

There are also some rather extraordinary claims for eating a raw food diet which include the disappearance of wrinkles, age spots and a more youthful appearance. That's certainly enough to make a raw food diet sound appealing to me. There are scientists who now believe that eating a diet of cooked food makes us more susceptible to aging and disease whereas a raw food diet provides us with more vitamins, minerals and enzymes to keep us healthy.

Eating a raw food plant based diet provides us with the nutrients we need to keep our bodies in the healthful state we were meant to enjoy. A raw food diet also provides us with the enzymes we need to assist in the digestion of food. Why should you eat a raw food diet? Besides being good for your overall health a raw food diet contains no animal products and creates less waste which in turn is better for the planet. A raw food diet also boosts the immune system, improves the memory and increases the capacity for better concentration.

  • A raw food diet also provides us with the enzymes we need to assist in the digestion of food.
  • Substitute fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes whenever possible.
  • Fruit is a great snack substitute.

It does indeed take some getting used to, but the raw food diet helped me get rid of parasites, joint pain, and other health problems. I quit for a number of years, but am going back on raw foods because I need the energy they provide. The raw food diet isn't easy! But it really does work.

I agree, and this is a big attitude change for me, but has been part of my lifestyle change. I'm convinced you are right, now when I start looking years younger...I will really become an advocate!
