Called a metropolis or "To" rather than a prefecture or "Ken," Tokyo is considered as one of the most powerful cities in the world. Aside from having 23 "ku" or "city wards," the city also has 26 cities, consists of 5 towns as well as 8 villages. The 23 city wards are considered as the center of Tokyo and eats up about 1/3 of the area.

If you plan to visit Tokyo, Japan it is best to research about the place first. The first major consideration should be the weather. Most people who went to Tokyo, Japan for vacation would agree that visiting the place could be enjoyable in every season of the year. But, the best time to go there would be January and November. January because it includes Japan's three major travel seasons has intensive domestic and international travel activities. It is also best because the weather that is sunny and dry, the airfares are low and most of sightseeing spots are not too crowded. November is also best because the weather is dry and mild, airfares are relatively low, and the spectacular sight of colored autumn leaves appears.

Major attractions in Tokyo, Japan include various city districts, large entertainment and shopping areas as well as business districts. The following are just some of the remarkable places you shouldn't miss when visiting capital city of the Land of the Rising Sun.

1.Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office or Tocho. This includes the 243-meter tall twin towers, observatories, and its surrounding buildings that house major offices and assembly hall of the metropolitan government of Tokyo.

2. Kabukicho. Named after a kabuki theater, Kabukicho is considered as Japan's largest red light district. It has many pachinko parlors, restaurants, love hotels and bars that cater to both sexes and to various sexual orientations.
