Although there are many kinds of cancer here are some general warning signs:

1. A sore throat that doesn't seem to heal with time.

2. A persistent cough that lasts for weeks ( this could also be an indication of a handful of different respiratory diseases).

3. Lumps in your breasts ( woman should give themselves monthly breast exams! I put a tag in my shower to remind me to do this).

4. Lumps in your genital area

5. Changes in your bowel habits - Frequent constipation, diarrhea or a fluctuation of both.

6. Change in bladder habits ( prostate cancer can make it difficult for men to pass urine).

7. Unusual bleeding EX: Frequent bloody noses (leukemia) bleeding from a mole and bloody gums.

8. difficulty swallowing

9. Chronic indigestion

10. Chronic Headaches

11. Unexplained weight loss ( drastic loss in weight with no effort to lose it).

12. Chronic pain ( usually in the effected area)

13. Always feeling tired and run down.

14. Nausea and/or vomiting

15. Continuous fever

16. Constant infections ( colds, flues, pneumonia, etc.).

If you only have 1 or 2 of these symptoms there shouldn't be any cause to worry. However you should still talk to your health care provider about them. You may have another condition that needs medical treatment.

If you have a majority of these symptoms seek medical attention as soon as possible. Tell your health care provider everything you have been experiencing. A number of tests can be performed to see if you have cancer and determine the exact case of cancer you may have.
