A fly on the wall? Or could it be a governmental spy? If you thought the Patriot Act gave the USA new freedom to roam in and out of people's private lives legally, wait until you see some of the technology they have in the works. No wait, you won't ever see it, or how could you be sure? Some of the new experimentations wouldn't need to be governed by any laws because they're so secretive and sneaky from the get-go. Enough with the cloak and dagger games, what am I talking about? Cyborg Moths, of course.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency or Darpa has been know to toy with the imagination and attempt to make the next leaping bounds in converting science fiction into science reality. Cyborgs which are half living organism and half machine, as so wonderfully displayed in films such as RoboCop, are an advanced step in robotics. Darpa isn't looking to outdo the next James Bond villain with a bigger laser ray machine, instead they are going low cost and messing with bugs.

What the scientist are doing is implanting tiny computer chips into the moths while they are still a pupa, in the cocoon. This will grow the creatures flesh around the chip and give control over the nervous system. The new Cyber Moth will be remote controlled into enemy camps and beam back video and other information viable to troops. Sound silly? Sounds more logical if you are thinking like the scientist working on these development. The same scientist that have documented to have already made it possible to remote control rats and cockroaches.

Fascinating. During the cold war they had tiny fake insects with little cameras. I am not too surprised that they have created something like this
