You've just come back from the dentist and given a brand new toothbrush. Time to toss that old one out, right?

Before you do, just realize all the uses it still has. Yep, there's much more that old toothbrush can still do before it finally retires to the garbage can.

There are scores of other uses for that old toothbrush besides brushing your teeth, especially if you're an artist or homemaker. Old Toothbrushes serve as both an artist's tool, as well as an excellent cleaning device, especially for hard-to-reach places, putting a smile on any homemaker's face.

If you're an artist.....

*Use that old toothbrush to create a variety of effects in your landscape paintings. For example, it's great for watercolor techniques. I cannot count the times I've used an old toothbrush to spatter "snow" onto my winter landscapes. Contrary to what you may have been told, the color "white" in watercolor does serve a purpose. Just make sure it's opaque white. You can also use it with acrylic paint to create the same effect. In addition, you can use it to spatter small "stones" on the ground, picking up a brownish colored watercolor or acrylic color. What's more, dab some green paint for splotches of grass and bushes. And, if you load it up with water and spatter into a wet watercolor sky, you can use it as a masking tool, to give the appearance of "rain".

Use your imagination and discover even more effects for your paintings and other art creations.

*Use it for your crafting projects, as well. Toothbrushes are great for applying children's paints for a multitude of school projects.

If you're a homemaker....

*Use that old toothbrush as a cleaning tool that can get to small spaces that you can't reach, such as the corners in your kitchen cabinets. What's more, it will save wear and tear on your fingernails.

*And if you do get some grime in your fingernails, an old toothbrush can help clean it out.

*Use your old toothbrush as a tool for scrubbing out stubborn stains after you've applied stain removers such as "Shout" or "Oxyclean."

*Use it to clean out your garlic press.

*Use it to scrub off stubborn coffee stains from your coffee pot.
