When bringing a cat into the family some people prefer larger cats while others like the small kitten-sized ones. Often this is just a matter of the situation and living arrangements as some people just don't have enough room for a large pet. However, other times people just prefer cuddling a smaller or larger sized animal. Everyone is different, and this goes for cats as well, which makes it important to consider the breed's characteristics in addition to size. So, whether your preferences lie with a smaller-sized cat or a larger-sized cat, here is a comparison between the smallest and largest domestic cat breeds.

The Singapura is the smallest known Domestic Breed of Cat. They range between four to six pounds with males typically heavier than the females. The Singapura originates from the Island of Singapore where the first cat was discovered and was imported into the United States in 1970. They are known to be tough cats as they were forced to survive the streets as wild animals before their domestication. Many people considered them vermin long before they were bred as pets.

They are known to be uniquely alert cats with large expressive eyes. They also exhibit large ears. They are very short-haired cats which eliminates too much shedding from occurring, and thus require minimal grooming. Their colour varies in the browns usually a dark brown to a golden brown, with the golden brown the preferred shade.

They are known to be quiet cats with a soft voice, or meow if you will. Their small size fits in perfectly with their playful nature. It can take up to four years for the Singapura to become mature, which is one of the reasons they are so playful. These cats also adore having others cats in the household to play with. The Singapura is of an affectionate nature and enjoys snuggling up to you when it can. You will find it easy to fall in love with this tiny cats sweet nature.
