Now for almost everyone out there, car buying is one of the most stressful things to get accomplished. Do you want to be the one who can brag about the great deal they got, or the one that people just feel sorry for. Just keep reading and hopefully I can save you hundreds maybe even thousands of dollars.

Tip #1 - Never set foot in an automobile dealership without first researching the vehicle you want to buy. This will help totally eliminate the impulse to purchase the car of your dreams and get ripped off big time while doing it.

Tip #2 - I recommend doing some homework on your vehicle. A website like edmunds.com can give you free information on both the price of a vehicle and the value of your trade in. You can even get the invoice price of a vehicle along with the MSRP. The idea here is to never pay full retail, you don't have to. There are many dealerships out there who want your business and will bargain to get it.

Tip #3 - Find the dealerships in your area that sell the vehicle you are looking for on the Internet. Send them an e-mail stating that you are interested in purchasing the vehicle that you want. Tell them that you are willing to pay $100 over the invoice cost ( from tip #2) and will purchase if they can meet your requirements. Internet departments at car dealerships rely on high volume rather than high profit deals. The high profit deals usually occur on the showroom floor. You should receive a reply within 48 hours. The more dealerships you e-mail, the more offers you get.

Tip #4 - Print out your lowest offer and go to another dealership. Find your car and show your salesperson the print out. If they can't beat the price, then simply leave and visit another dealership. One of two things will happen....... you drive off or they chase after you an give you a better deal. You can't lose.

These steps can save you tons of money off the sticker of a vehicle. Want to save more money keep reading.

Tip #5 Know your credit score. Go to freeannualcreditreport.com and receive your free report. It usually costs about five dollars for you score.
