How to Add More Than 1 Photo to a PhpWebSite Feature
I Wanted to Add Photos Where the Site Would Not Let Me, so I Had to Re-think Our Design
When we began USA Travel Magazine in 2005 we never realized how much goes into creating a website. I use to just jump on the web and click a link without thinking about how that site was created; not any more. After several years of trial and error, I'm still learning new tricks. In 2006, USA Travel Magazine added an events and announcements section for travelers created with the web site content management system called phpWebSite. At first, I started adding content without much thought. I knew I wanted announcements of events to show up on a certain date, which they did. As time went on I wanted more variety. I wanted to add photos where the site would not let me, and I wanted to change the look of the site, so I had to re-think our design. Here are some tips and tricks I've learned along the way to add photos to your phpWebSite.
Add Photo To Your Content
The phpWebSite has a great photo album that allows you and readers to insert photos. I've found this very helpful when I want to add photos to content. Albums can be made for the use of readers, and separate albums can be utilized by your staff. We created a album just for staff photos and with a bit of creativity and html code we can now insert photos into specific locations. 2. Insert Photos Into Content:
When you create and announcements you can easily insert a photo with a caption. We wanted the ability to insert a photo into the content, which is simple to do. Go to your photo album, and right click on the photo you want to insert, and click IMAGE PROPERTIES. This will give you all the information you need to help you insert the photo. Copy these details into a text file or open another window so you can return to it.
