Beyond Growth: The Basic Role of Education in Significant Economic Development
When looking at the strongest economies in the world, one will encounter first world countries with all the qualities necessary to maintain and strengthen their economies even further. Such qualities of first world
countries go beyond economic develop and include social and political development. Therefore, as third world countries attempt to reach the development found in today's first world countries, the need to develop in all aspects becomes apparent, in order to develop a first world country. Nonetheless, in today's world, as all countries seek to strengthen their economies, the attention to such detail does not seem to be given. As poor countries seek development, an immense amount of investment and effort is given to the economy whereas education, the most important resource in society, which deals with all aspects of development, takes a back seat. This inability to invest in education, a resource that cannot be instantly measured, might prove itself to be one of the most crucial investments for countries that seek development. Without education, society's productivity is restrained and so will be the level of development that a country can reach.
