Everyday more and more men are discovering men's skin care products that help them fight off aging and maintain a younger and vital appearance. In fact, it is estimated that approximately 25% of all skin care product sales in the U.S. are attributed to men's skin care.

There are some important differences between a man's and woman's skin that also contributes to the rise in popularity of men's skin care products. A man's skin is usually more oily than a woman's because a man's sebaceous glands are much more active than a woman's and in turn produces more oil. Also, a man's face is thicker than a woman's face because of a larger amount of elastin and collagen present in men's skin.

The products being manufactured for men today are meant to address these unique conditions for their skin. Men's skin care products are being designed that condition the skin, control acne, reduce razor burn, offer protection from the sun and reduce wrinkles.

One of the biggest discomforts for a man's skin is the punishment it goes through from the daily shaving ritual. To get a smoother, less damaging shave here are a few tips you can try. First, you want to soak your face with warm water. This opens the pores and will help you get a better lather as you massage it on. Then take your time and shave only in the direction your facial hair is growing. By using one of the newer vitamin-rich shave creams designed to care for your skin while shaving, and an after-shave lotion which does not contain any alcohol, because it can burn and dry out your skin, you will make it much easier on your face and reduce the irritation and redness that often occurs.

Some other things you can do to make your skin look younger and healthier is to use a daily moisturizer that contains aloe vera or vitamins. This helps to seal in the moisture in your face. Also, exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells and open up your pores. Wash your face deeply in the morning and evening to remove the dirt and grime accumulated throughout the day. Also, consider using an anti-wrinkle cream to reduce or get rid of any unwanted wrinkles you may have .
