With the Harry Potter craze expanding with every new book and film, it's hard to believe that there are actually people within the world who have yet to jump on the bandwagon. With each book leaving you on the edge of your seat and allowing you to really feel as if you were amongst Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry along with the famous trio and their circle of friends as well as countless other characters that make you feel for them regardless of whether their the hero or the villain.

Personally, I am one who jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon years ago. I've read every released book on it's release date as well as saw every film on it's release date. I have quite a collection of Harry Potter memorabillia as well which consists of everything from the action figures to the motion censored three headed dog named Fluffy which growls and barks at you when you walk past.

Now, this is where I gather all of my thoughts on the Harry Potter series in general and compile a list of my personal top five favorite characters, but with these characters are more than just a name. With indulging myself frequently within the wizarding world and Harry Potter. I feel as though the following characters have been much more than mere characters, I've grown with them throughout the books. I've felt for them in their time of crisis and most of all, I've learned from them in some way or another.

The last to top my personally compiled favorites list at number five is Rubeus Hagrid.

Hagrid is much more than a Hogwarts groundskeeper or Care of Magical Creatures Professor. He's half-giant and has a heart just as big as his stature. Twice as tall than the average man, Hagrid is a lover of all creatures, even the most vile and treats them all as if there were his own pets even when others tend to coward away in fear.

Although Hagrid's appearance is a bit intimidating due to his size, his hair much like his beard which can be described as long, wild and tangled. Eyes which glint beneath any lighting much like black beetles, crinkled in a smile, Hagrid can be one of the most respectable characters within the book.
