How to Get on Survivor: Casting Application Information
Survivors ready! It has been the battle cry of the now famous show from the beginning and now host Jeff Prost and the producers are saying it to potential survivors nation wide. A casting call goes out to all those interested in subjecting themselves to the challenges of the weekly
television show and it takes a bit of work to make the list. Potential contestants are first asked to go to the website at www.survivor.com and request an application. The applications are extensive and ask very probing questions. They are e-mailed to those who are interested in being on the show.
After you submit your application the show producers then notify you if they are interested in your application. No one knows for sure what producers are looking for in a contestant although past contestants have been from a variety of backgrounds.
Frequently producers do hold what is referred to as “open” casting calls in major cities. These casting calls are open to the public and people are asked to fill out applications on the spot. After filling out the applications you are then put directly in front of a camera to determine how the camera takes to you. It is not necessary to bring your own tape and producers stress that they also don’t need your passport at this stage. Many people apparently believe that a passport is something they need to bring since the show is taped in various other countries.
The open casting calls are usually a lot of fun and a great chance to meet other people from all over the country. The Survivor producers also try to make it as fun as they can too. If you think you have what it takes to be a Survivor then go for it. For more information about how you can become one of the next Survivors contact your local CBS affiliate.
