Are you looking for a good white wine this summer that does not have a strong tannin taste and is not too dry? Well, look no further, Tabor Hill Winery has come up with a wonderful white wine that has been noted throughout history as a slight sweet but complex white wine. It is a wine that you can feel free to take outdoors and serve to guests at the barbeque. Or, if the weather does not agree with you, it is perfect for that rushed elegant dinner party indoors. It is the must have white wine this summer! After searching through various locations in the Southwest Michigan region for good wine, I came across Tabor Hill Winery a few weeks ago. So, what every good wife would do, I took my husband there to taste the multitudes of wines available from this winery. After tasting around fifteen different wines, we came across the Classic Demi-Sec White Wine.
Apparently, our taste buds are very distinguished since this wine has a long history of dignified consumers. During the tour of the winery, it was stated that Classic Demi-Sec is one of the few white wines that Gerald R. Ford, the thirty-eighth President of the United States would always request. In fact, he appreciated the fine taste of this white wine so much, he always had a few cases ordered to have on hand just in case something arose that wine was needed. Other distinguished members who enjoy a good bottle include Congressmen, British Royalty, celebrities and so on.
At first, I thought that this wine was going to be a bit dry since it is categorized as a Semi-Dry white wine. When smelling the wine though, as it sat in my glass, there was a slight sweet aroma floated around the wine glass. I have to admit, I was and am still confused why this white wine is categorized in the semi-dry category since it does not hold the Hess Chardonnay Monterey 2005.
