Would you pay $2,600 per pound for chocolate? That's how much Chocopologie by Knipschildt costs. Of course, this chocolate doesn't taste like the chocolate you get in your average Nestle's chocolate bar. It's handmade chocolate with 70% Valrhona Cocoa that's rolled over black truffle to create the ultimate chocolate creation. And at $250.00 per piece, it had better taste good! Chocopologie isn't the only chocolate company charging enormous prices for their premium chocolates. Here's a list of more of the world's most expensive chocolates, I've chosen ones that cost over $100 per pounds. That's a hefty price to pay for a chocolate treat! Here are the world's most expensive chocolates:

Chocopologie by Knipschildt $2,600 per pound

Noka Vintages Collection $854 per pound

This premium chocolate is made of 75% pure single-origin cacao without any added emulsifier. It comes beautifully displayed in a Noka box.

Delafee $508 per pound

This chocolate actually has tiny flakes of real 24K gold applied to the surface of each of its pralines. It should at this price!

Godiva "G" Collection $120 per pound

These chocolates come beautifully adorned in a classy gift box. Inside you'll find premium chocolates with such unusual flavors as praline crunch, orange gianduja, vanilla mascarpone, and passion orange heart. This would be a gift that would be remembered for years by its lucky recipient!

Richart $120 per pound

This site claims its chocolates are made from the very finest specialty ingredients from around the world. They offer both plain chocolates and ones filled with delectable ingredients such as fresh fruit, hazelnut, and pistachio. A gift for the true chocolate connoisseur!

Pierre Marcolini $102.50 per pound

This chocolate company offers over 60 unique flavors of chocolate including jasmine, passion fruit, licorice, and violet. Based in Belgium, this is one of the most celebrated chocolate companies in the world.

I love chocolate, but I might have to draw the line here! I belonged to a chocolate tasting club in the UK, where chocolate was also around 70% cocoa and I received a box each month and it was wonderful. I was sad to cancel my membership when I moved to the US! Sophie

I'm flabbergasted. I could not have imagined that chocolate could be $2,600 a pound. I like chocolate as much as the next lady, but not enough to get a second mortgage. :) Great article!
