Myspace is an online social networking site with millions of members. Some users have developed programs that help others to dress up a Myspace page.

Many different types of icons, layouts, and backgrounds are available for use in a profile. Glittery and inspirational images are also very popular. There are many types of glitter images available to use for backgrounds and icons. Glitter icons range from animal graphics and pictures to sparkling text. The text icons usually say a variety of things such as "Hello" or "I love you". Several websites have many different icon categories to choose from depending on the occasion and purpose for its use.

Often on Myspace, you will see funny joke photos that mock a person, an animal or an object and have been edited to include text that gives a phrase to describe it. Photos can also be edited and animation added to them so they appear to be moving or performing an action. Backgrounds and layouts are up into the hundreds or even thousands, and you can find almost any type - from Native American dream catcher tiles to a ship sailing on the sea.

Another purpose for Myspace icons is when a user wants to leave a comment for a friend. On Myspace, you can go to the profile of one of your friends and leave a comment for them that is public. Often, instead of writing a comment to a friend, an icon or graphic is posted. You may see an icon that would appeal to the person receiving the comment and use that instead of a traditional text comment. Inspirational icons are sometimes used to brighten someone's day or give them encouragement. Friends share these icons, posting flowers, text and other types of images.
